Hideo Kojima, the legendary game creator of Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding, is partnering with the film studio A24 to adapt his latest game to the silver screen.

Death Stranding is an action-adventure game that takes place in a post-apocalyptic future, where humanity is on the brink of extinction due to a series of catastrophic events called Death Stranding. The protagonist, Sam Porter Bridges, played by Norman Reedus, is a deliveryman who needs to cross the devastated United States to reconnect the isolated cities and restore society. Along the way, he faces dangers such as terrorists, mercenaries and supernatural creatures called BTs (Beached Things).

The game was released in 2019 for PlayStation 4 and in 2020 for PC, receiving positive reviews for its original story, its stunning art direction and its innovative gameplay, which involves the use of special equipment, the interaction with other online players and the care for the baby BB (Bridge Baby), which allows Sam to detect the BTs. The game also features the participation of other famous actors, such as Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley and Lindsay Wagner.

There are not many details about the live-action movie of Death Stranding yet, but Kojima stated in an interview that he will be faithful to the spirit of the game, but also bring new elements and surprises for the fans. He said he chose A24 as a partner because it is a studio that values creativity and originality, and that has produced acclaimed movies such as Moonlight, Hereditary, Lady Bird and Midsommar.

The live-action movie of Death Stranding does not have a release date yet, but it is already generating a lot of expectation among the fans of Kojima and the game. Will he be able to recreate on the screen the unique and exciting experience that he created on the consoles? We are eager to find out!
