Netflix Expands the Dark World of Wednesday Addams
Netflix’s global phenomenon Wednesday has officially returned with the release of Season 2, Part 2. Fans can now stream Episodes 5–8, which dropped on the platform in the early hours of Sept. 2, closing out one of the most talked-about seasons of 2025 television.
The series, created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and directed by Tim Burton, has been a massive success since its debut. Season 1, which premiered in November 2022, remains the most-watched English-language show in Netflix history with over 252 million views — translating to more than 1.7 billion hours streamed worldwide.
Season 2: A Record-Breaking Run

Season 2 has continued the Addams Family’s winning streak. Since its premiere on Aug. 6, Part 1 quickly topped Netflix’s global charts, drawing 50 million views in its opening week. The momentum carried into subsequent weeks, with the series maintaining a stronghold in the Top 10 and still holding at No. 3 worldwide in late August.
This sustained popularity underscores the cultural impact of Jenna Ortega’s portrayal of Wednesday Addams, which has made her one of the most recognizable faces in streaming today.
Episodes 5–8: Titles and Streaming Details
The second half of Season 2 is now available to binge, bringing new revelations and surprises to Nevermore Academy. The official episode titles are:
- Episode 5 – Hyde and Woe Seek
- Episode 6 – Woe Thyself
- Episode 7 – Woe Me the Money
- Episode 8 – This Means Woe
Netflix offers multiple subscription tiers: an ad-supported plan at $7.99/month, a standard ad-free plan at $17.99/month, and a premium ad-free plan with 4K Ultra HD streaming at $24.99/month.
What’s New in Part 2?
The Addams Family Takes Center Stage
One of the major shifts in Season 2 is the expanded role of the Addams family beyond Wednesday. Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Luis Guzmán) now stay on campus at Nevermore, while Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) officially joins the academy as a freshman — and accidentally revives a corpse he affectionately names Slurp.
Familiar Faces and New Arrivals
Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) gets more screen time this season, while Joanna Lumley makes her debut as Grandmama Hester Frump, whose arrival sparks tension between Morticia and Wednesday.
The biggest surprise, however, is the return of Principal Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie). Though killed in Part 1, Weems now lingers in Wednesday’s consciousness, a haunting presence that complicates her already fragile psyche.
And then there’s the cameo fans had been buzzing about: Lady Gaga officially joins the cast as Rosaline Rotwood, a former Nevermore teacher. The pop icon even debuts an original track titled The Dead Dance, blending her gothic flair seamlessly into Burton’s eerie universe.
A Tim Burton Signature
Season 2 also pushes creative boundaries. Part 1 opened with a striking black-and-white stop-motion sequence crafted by Burton’s longtime collaborators Mackinnon & Saunders, known for their work on Frankenweenie. This creative flourish — reminiscent of Burton’s 1982 short Vincent — marks the first time the series has leaned into animation, offering fans a nostalgic nod to his roots.
What Lies Ahead for Season 3?
With Season 2 now complete, Netflix has already confirmed that Wednesday will return for a third season. No release date has been announced yet, but given the show’s track record, expectations are sky-high.
For now, fans can catch up on all 16 episodes across Seasons 1 and 2, streaming exclusively on Netflix. Between its gothic visuals, Ortega’s acclaimed performance, and surprise cameos like Gaga’s, Wednesday continues to cement itself as one of the defining series of the streaming era.
